Christmas Angel #Rita Barakat

Rita Barakat creates the cutest ephemera. The Angel Collection is one of my favorites.
My Christmas Angel was one of the easiest to create. I purchased the acrylic angel wings at my local craft store, I then trimmed off the wings, she was getting an upgrade after all. I then slightly curled the angel so that I glue it to the wings.

I then took Art Anthology's Twilight Stencil and Tink Sorbet Dimensional Medium to alter the Kraft box. I used a die to cut the " Merry Christmas" and once the dimensional medium was dried I glued it down and added a green metallic ribbon.

Waiting for the dimensional medium to dry took about an hour, otherwise everything else went super fast to make. She's nicely nestled in her box waiting for her new home.

I hope you enjoyed my project. Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas!

Christmas with Rita Barakat & Art Anthology

Welcome to the Rita Barakat & Art Anthology Blog Hop! Christmas crafting is now in full swing and I have a Christmas tags to share with a bit of mixed media.
If you are arriving from Susan chanel you are right on track. This hop is a short one but full of fun Christmas inspiration.

I used Rita's latest ephemera, A Merry Little Christmas collection. Super adorbs images!
I love my purples and blues! I used Art Anthology's Siesta Key Coloration Spray, Shimmering Ink in Majestic Minx and Kaleidoscope Stencil.

I die cut the tags on white card stock and placed the Kaleidoscope Stencil. Keeping the Siesta Key Coloration Spray at 6" inches away from the tag, I sprayed each tag differently; sprayed once for a light color, sprayed twice for a bit more color and lastly three times for a darker coloration. The photos don't do it justice, but oh boy that shimmer!

The Shimmering Ink in Majestic Minx has a dropper making it super easy to add splatters and that's exactly what I did. After the ink and mist dried, I stamped the sentiment and embellished each tag with bling.
Using Scrapbook Adhesives Ultra Strong tape runner I attached the tag onto the gold larger tags. I attached the Rita's A Merry Little Christmas ephemera with Scrapbook Adhesives 3D Foam Squares.

I then used Westcott Non-Stick scissors to cut the organza ribbon for smooth clean cuts.
The tags are super adorable! The A Merry Little Christmas has the cutest images! These are just 3 of the 5 images included in the collection.

Thank you for stopping by, your next stop is Michelle, you are going to LOVE her project!
Keep it crafty, keep it MERRY!

Christmas Comes Early Blog Hop

Welcome to the Christmas Comes Early Blog Hop. You should be arriving from Joe Rotella's blog, if you want to start hopping from the beginning, please visit Rita Barakat's blog. The complete blog hop line up is at the bottom of this post.

I'm so excited to show you how to get more out of your rubber stamps this holiday season.
For today's project I am featuring Rita Barakat's Sing rubber stamp.
I stamped Sing on Shrinky Dinks film, used a circle die cut and punched a hole to create a charm. I followed the instructions on the shrink film packaging and made the cutest mini Sing charm.

I attached the Sing charm to a ball chain bracelet, along with a bead charm, silver bow and gold heart including one I made using Plaid's Glitterific.
To make the Glitterific charm, I added a layer of Glitterific to a bezel and allowed to dry. I added to more layers allowing each layer to dry completely.

To create my own Sing Christmas wrapping paper. I stamped Sing on white butcher paper using black Staz On ink. I then took a Merry Christmas stamp, I used Pomegranate and Emerald inks to stamp the throughout the paper.

I tied the Sing bracelet onto the wrapped gift box. Sing looks beautiful as a charm!

Don't forget we have challenges on the Facebook Event page. The challenges include creating your own gift wrapping paper and charms using your favorite stamps using Shrink Dinks film.

Heart Wing Altered Bag #RitaBarakat

I must admit, painting on fabric can be a little intimidating. When I first joined Rita Barakat's Design Team this purple fabric tote was included in my welcome package. I often took it out and planned on altering it however I didn't want to take the chance of ruining it. Does this happen to you?

I received the package of Fabric Creation Soft Fabric Paints by Plaid and that little purple bag had waited long enough.

I stamped Rita's Heart Wing ArtFoamies Stamp through out the bag. I added the paint with a paint brush directly onto the stamp changing up the colors. When adding the paint directly onto the ArtFoamies you need to act quickly so the paint does not dry.

Once the paint dried, I added white highlights to the Heart Wing images and embellished the bag  with rhinestones throughout.

Fabric Creation Soft Fabric Paints by Plaid truly dries soft. Very impressed with vibrant colors and results. Intimidated to paint on fabric no longer! Next!

Thank you for visiting and happy crafting.

Mixing the Media #RitaBarakat

Have you tried Rita Barakat's embossing powders? Seriously gorgeous colors and textures!
I used for of Rita's embossing powders for my card along with the Floral rubber stamp and ephemera from Be True collection.

I embossed the floral stamp with three different embossing powders the results are gorgeous.

I added a generous amount of Nuvo glue and spread out to glue down my layers along with beads and another embossing powder, Dragon's Egg.

Once everything dried, I used daubers to ink the background of the card and the flowers. I secured everything with hot glue and added a jute bow.

I know I said it, but I sure love those embossing powders, photos don't do them justice.  I hope you enjoyed my mixed media card and remember to always follow your heart. Happy crafting!

Planner Pocket Folio #RitaBarakat

Hidden pockets to hold notes and receipts in my planner are my favorite. I'm always looking for pockets to hold notes, business cards, receipts etc. in my planners.
I created this pocket with Rita Barakat's Zoe rubber stamp surrounded by images of the Floral stamp.

I used my favorite ink colors and a dauber to add color to the panel, stamped the images and then finished it off with black and gold ink splatters.

It's always nice feeling when I get to use up scraps and that's exactly what I used to create the pocket folio. I included a couple of notes and one of Rita's ephemera pieces from Be True collection.

As the year comes to a close, I find myself setting up my planners for 2019. I definitely will be making these smaller pocket folios to help me keep organized.

Thank you for visiting and happy planning.

In My Planner Notes #RitaBarakat

I'm so down for Happy Notes. I created my own happy note book and really needed some cuteness.
I took Rita Barakat's Whispering Friends stamp and created a mini notepad for my Happy Notes.

I took a couple of tag dies to create the cover and made a couple of slits to slide the corners of the image onto the cover.

I used the same tag die to cut graph paper to make the mini notebook insert.

Most importantly, I shrank the sentiment. Yes, I used Shrinky Dink film. I first stamped the sentiment, colored it with markers and used the tag die. Popped it into the mini oven and it shrank! It's the cutest thing ever!

Now your turn, which image or sentiment will you Shrinky Dink?

Song Inspired Canvas

Do you listen to music while you craft? As I sat to work on a canvas, I asked Google to play Tom Petty and the first song it played was one of my favorite, You Don't Know How It Feels. I had every intention to create a more colorful happy-go-lucky canvas, but that quick changed.

I used Rita Barakat's stencil, Marvy Uchida Glitter pens, Le Plume markers and acrylic paint on a 5" x 7" canvas.

I lightly traced the stencil on the canvas with a pencil.

I used my favorite color combo to color her hair and for the skin tone a Le Plume marker.

I then wrote a portion of the lyrics and cut down each word. I covered her face and splattered paint on the rest of the canvas.

Happy how she turned out. She's displayed in my craft room.

Thank you for visiting, happy crafting!

National Coffee Day Blog Hop

Today is National Coffee Day! Pink and Main is sponsoring the Coffee Loving Card Makers hop. Please join the hop and make sure to leave a comment on Pink and Main's post to be entered to win a $25 gift certificate to their shop.

I created my card using the newest coffee stamp set from Pink and Main, Pumpkin Spice with the paper pad of the same name. I did a bit of paper piecing using the Sunny Cover Die.

I colored the latte and cupcake with coloring pencils and added a bit of twine and Glossy Dots.

Enjoy the hop and don't forget to comment on Pink and Main's blog post.
