Coral Mermaid #ritabarakat

I've holding on to this beauty for a special project. Well, I really just wanted to keep her in my pocket. She's Cora the Mermaid Princess from Rita Barakat's Mermaid Tails ephemera collection.

I fussy cut the image along with the oversized seashell. I then used different pattern papers to create the background. I added jute behind the seashell and then popped Cora with Scrapbook Adhesives dots.

I embellished with gold dome dots and sparkly rhinestones. They really do look better in person.

Cora's hair gets me every time! She's gorgeous! I think I'm keeping this card and added to my planner.
Thank you for visiting and happy crafting.

Rinea Blog Hop

Welcome to the Designer Crafts Connection blog hop featuring Rinea foiled paper.

Today's project features a variety of colors of Rinea foiled paper from their jewel colors to black Starstruck. I used the Ghost Ink to stamp the Day of the Dead Skull stamp set by Prickely Pear.

I trimmed the Rinea foiled paper to fit the size of the peanut can. Then stamped the sugar skulls using the Ghost Ink.

I used a fringe die to cut a strip to wrap around the lid. I finished it off by adding flowers.
I wanted the lid to resemble "La catrina" hat and love the results.

Please visit the Designer Craft Connection for more Rinea projects.

Rita Barakat, Clover & Kunin Blog Hop

Welcome to the Rita Barakat, Clover and Kunin Blog Hop!
This is a short hop but one full of amazing inspiration.
I'm so excited to show you my tablet case! This is a little different for me and I love the results.
So let's get started.
I used Rita's Sassy Sue, Kunin felt sheets and Clover's wool roing with their Felting Needle Mat and Felting Tool.

I stamped Sassy Sue, colored her with alcohol markers. I scanned the Sassy Sue and created a png file to print on an inkjet transfer sheet. Please note, always follow the artist's Angel Policy. I contacted Rita and confirmed this method was within her Angel Policy.

I digitally added a sunburt background to the image and resized to 4" x 4" . I then trimmed a scrap of canvas fabric to 5" x 5". I followed the instructions of the transfer sheet and heat pressed with an iron.

I trimmed the Kunin felt sheets to create the tablet case and used a blanket stitch along with decorative cross stitches.
I used Clover's Roving Wool to create flowers and to interlace felt leaves.

Here is the back of the case with cross stitches.

I added a pocket and added more flowers with cross stitches. I punched a hole and added an eyelet and added an elastic loop for the closure.

To protect the tablet from eyelet scratches, I added a felt donut to cover the eyelet in the inside of the pocket. I used Beacon's Felt Glue to adhere.

I found a silver button on my sewing table and used it for the closure. I used white embroidery floss to add decorative stitches on the leaves and cross stitches.

I slightlty frayed the canvas edges and hand stitched Sassy Sue to the cover.
And there you have it, my Sassy Sue tablet cover.

I recently took a road trip to Arizona and New Mexico. I always a take a bag of crafting supplies to create on the road. On this trip I took along Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts' Fold Up Oval Box (available soon), Layered Frame Bella Oval and the Words and Phrases 1.

I used Graphic 45 Sun Kissed paper and traced the shadow of the Layered Frame Bella Oval frame. I then took colored the top layer with a blue Sharpie.

Sing, Love your face #ritabarakat

Ok so by now you may have a caught on that I really love Sing. She's a rubber stamp by Rita Barakat and I love her face!

I stamped Sing with embossing ink and used Dragons Egg embossing powder for the perfect purple Sing image!

I colored her with alcohol makers and stamped the sentiment, "I love your face". Perfect for Sing, perfect for the recipient.

I added a bow to her and sprinkled with flowers and the tiniest rhinestones.
Thank you for stopping by and happy crafting!
