"Proud to be your Nina" ~ Etsy Inspired Challenge

I created a 2 page layout for the challenge over at EtsyInspired Blog.  The challenge is to browse the Tzaddi Shop and find an item that inspires you; then create a layout, card or any other project.

This is the item that inspired me, the Peacock Floral:

This is my silly Goddaughter Dulce when she was four!  LOL I love these pictures.
The swirly background paper and polka dot paper is from Colorbok.  The green paper on the peacock is K & Co.  The paper flowers are from Prima; the crochet flowers were made by my sister, Connie. All rhinestones are Darice; lace is from a kit by Rusty Pickle.  The black tiles, tags, and the brown slide letters are super old and I don't remember the brand.   The peacock is from the French Manor cartridge and the brown swirly SVG frame is from Craft Love.

This challenge is what I needed to get back to scrap booking.  I need to complete Dulce's album!

Make A Wish

This card is for my sister, Letty.  Her birthday was yesterday, but we are celebrating tomorrow.  The Angel is from My ScrapChick I purchased for two bucks.  Paper from my stash; ribbon is Fancy Pants.  The crochet flowers were made by my sister, Connie.  She gave me several flowers for my birthday this past Spring.
Sorry about the pic, but it's late and I am tired. :)

Be Joyful & Sing {Gaby Abby Challenge Glitter It Up}

Isn't this the cutest bird!!  Inspired by Paula, LowCountry Paisley.  The bird was a freebie from MyScrapChick and may be purchased for two bucks.  The paper is from my stash, who knows how long I've had it.  The holly and ribbon are Creative Memories stickers, surprised they still sticked!  I remembered to do some embossing on my Cuttlebug, yay!  Can't tell on but I used transparent micro fine glitter on the bird's body and the roof.  The Christmas lights are from Walmart, got them a few weeks ago for $1.99.  I adhered them with Aileens Fast Grab glue.  I'm entering this card over at Gaby Abby SEI Challenge, the challenge is to use glitter on any project...yes, I sure did,  it's on the card, my table, my clothes, I glittered it up!

So here's your free cut file.  I used it on the inside of the card.  I cut at 6.367 x 1.835, please don't cut any smaller.  The font is dainty.  I think it's best to use Cri-Kit pens for the top layer, unless you have super duper patience.  I don't, I had already sent it to my Cricut when I realized it was dainty, blah.  The bird house was a freebie from Cricut Design, but I don't have the blog address to link.  Sorry!

Merrie Merrie

Paper is from my stash, ribbon is by Fancy Pants.  The Merrie Merrie and pink swirls are rub-ons also by Fancy Pants.  The birdie label is by Imaginisce Lucy Bird Collection.

My cards

Couple of weeks ago, Melin over Fantabulous Cricut, feautured the card I created for my sister's birthday.

Most recently Creative Scrapbooking Divas, feautured my Cricut-less card as December's Craftie!!

Yay...hehehe that's so cool! :)

Prima Warehouse Sale

We went to the sale today!  Prices were good, more like Expo prices, I managed to spend $58.  I was surprised there wasn't a big crowd.  I met of couple of men that scrapbook, ha men do scrapbook!!  My hubby was nice enough to accompany me, he held a spot for me in line. :)  Here he is in the Redsox jacket. The man in front was also with his wife and the guy behind my hubby is a scrapbooker.  While waiting in line I met Che'rie, Crafting in the Pines, turns out she lives not too far from me!  Please visit her she was a fabulous blog!

See all the pretties on the table.

By the time I made my way back to buy the mini buckets, they were gone.  The guy going through the bin, helped me get more from the unopened boxes.  LOL

Prima should have given us a discount for replenishing their bins!

And these are my flowers....SOOO PRETTY!!!

My Veruca Salt

Yesterday when I made space for my sewing machine, I took a second look at this pic and realized the plain green background wasn't cutting it.  I decided to re-do the background. Sorry for the reflections on the glass.

This is my Sweet Dulce, when she was 4 years old.  It was taken at her big brother's Willy Wonka 8th birthday party. I love her big brown eyes!! You can't see her dress but she had a Veruca Salt dress my Mom made for her.   The paper is Colorbok's Sweet Blossoms, I got free for completing a survey.  The paper pads are available at Joann's and the fabric online.

A Non-Cricut Card

I'm glad I joined Emma's challenge, I created another non-Cricut card.  It's good practice, since the hubster will have the laptop all day tomorrow.

The pattern paper is DCWV Stack 7; the rub-ons by Fancy Pants; brads from my stash; ribbon from Michael's dollar bin.

Holiday Project Challenge - Cooking with Cricut

There I go, creating Christmas cards, when clearly I should be working on Thanksgiving. I'm entering this card in the Holiday Project Challenge over at Cooking with Cricut blog.

The reindeer and snowflakes are rub ons by Fancy Pants.  The poinsettias and brads are Making Memories and the ribbon is from Michael's.  The scallop cut is from 09 Kuts Up font, cut with Sure Cuts A Lot.  The label is from Home Decor cartridge.  I used three layers but cut only two, the smaller one was drawn using my Cri-Kit gel pens.  The "comfort and joy" is a cut file I shared last year...since the font is dainty, I used my Cri-Kit pens to draw (it cuts best over 4") I then colored it in with my Gelly Roll glitter pen.

Thankful

I got the inspiration from my friend Staci, Precious Memories Scrapbooking.  I have the same stamp set she won on blog a several weeks ago.  This is the first time using it...that's bad...the set is from Kelly Panacci by Sandylion.  I heat embossed using Pearllustre powder...it's so pretty.  The card base is TPC and the flowers were cut from DCWV Fall Stack '09.  The "thankful" cut is my own

Card Patterns Sketch Challenge # 90

I'm joining in on the fun! I have a few challenges I'm participating in this week. I figured it was a good way to get my card making going.  Now, I may not follow the sketch to the ink but it helps me get started.

Here's the card sketch from Card Patterns Blog.

Paper is  DCWV & The Paper Co.  Both stamps, "Merry Christmast" and the snowflakes are by Studio G...purchased at Michael's for a buck each.  I used VersaMark and then sprinkled Stampendous embossing powder, Red Tinsel and Kaleidoscope.  The red snowflake ribbon is from Karen Foster.  I dry embossed using Cuttlebug folders.

First Xmas Card of the Season!

Instead of creating Thanksgiving cards, I created my first Christmas card. The hubs had the laptop last night, so I cut without SCAL.  So I used Home Accents to cut the frame.

The card base is The Paper Co., cardstock and the pattern paper is DCWV.
Pointsettas and brads are Making Memories and the Holy ribbon is from Karen Foster.
The sentiment is a stamp from Inkadinkado Christmas Silhouettes I bought for $2. I used VersaMark and sprinkled Stampendous Silver Tinsel embossing powder and then heat embossed.
The tiny snowman tag is a stamp from Studio G, I stamped with one of their dollar ink pads, both I purchased from Joann's for a buck.  I used my glitter Gelly Roll and Creative Memories fine tips pens to color him in and finally I added a couple of gems from Darice and adhered them with Ailleen's Fast Grab Tacky glue.

Birthday Card

My sister Connie's Birthday is this coming Thursday, she'll be 52.  We celebrated her birthday tonight, loads of fun...for years now I've trying to convince her to say she's younger, you see she's 10 years older than me so if she says, she's 48, it makes me 38...but no can do...she won't budge! LOL

So onto the card...I won the Cri-Kits pen set over at Beth's blog a couple of weeks...I picked the metallic set and they shipped fast!  I got them last Saturday and they also sent me the Swirls!!  Thank you Cri-Kits and Beth!
I used the silver pen on the pumpkin, my camera is 5 years old, so my pics are coming out terrible...but it look so cool and super easy to use...I love the Cri-Kits!!!  I hope "Santa" brings me the other pen sets.
Paper is from DCWV, Recollections, Creative Memories and K & Co. Flowers, ribbon and the leaf buttons are from my stash.  I used My Scrapchick's, Harvest Raggedy, she's so cute!!

CSD 8x10 LO Challenge

One of the many challenges over Creative Scrapbooking Divas was to create a layout with a 8x10 pic.
Alter a piece of raw chipboard
Use a tag
Use at least 2 buttons
Use at least 1 flower

I always take advantage of Walgreens 8x10 freebies, so I had a couple of pics to choose from.  Ok so I didn't use 2 buttons and I don't have any raw chipboard to alter, but I'm still submitting it.  I think the purpose of challenges is to get you CREATING! LOL

The pic is of Dulce and Irene, my two beautiful nieces that I just adore.  This picture was taken at Newport, RI in November 2007.  I believe the paper is from Miss Elizabeth.  The "cherish and blessings" are Creative Memories stickers.  Everything else is from my stash.

CSD Blog Hop Challenge # 3

For the third challenge I decided to do Sandy's Back-to-School theme project, I thought it was an easy. One little problem, I don't have kids and don't buy school theme paper!  And it was too late to go off and do one of the other challenges!  Ah but wait, I am a confessed paper hoarder and I was lucky to find one, just one sheet of school paper!  LOL  I decided to make a book marker for Dulce.

CSD Blog Hop Challenge # 2

Alecia's challenge is to lift a layout from the Diva's Gallery. I choose Susan's Olivia layout.

All paper is Creative Memories including the sticker sentiments. The brown flowers are from my stash. Brads are Basic Grey.

CSD Blog Hop Callenge # 1

I'm participating on the blog hop challenges at Creative Scrapbooking Divas. One of  Luisa's challenge is to create a layout with a cluster of embellishments.
I used Creative Memories and Prima papers;  Flowers are from Joann's Scrap Essentials; brads are Making Memories.  I have my journaling done but didn't attach it yet.  I always type my journaling, I have a handful of layouts that include my writing....maybe I should challenge myself to hand write my journaling more often.

This is my niece Irene, taken at the seafront mansions in Newport, RI.

Witching you...

Well what do you know, I got another card done today too! LOL
All paper is from TPC including the plaid.  The inside sentiment says, "a happy halloween".
The witch legs are from Stephanie from ScrapNCreations. I added the skirt, don't know if anyone would want it, if I receive enough comments asking for it I will add the link.

The hat was a freebie from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs and you can still get it here.

Witchful Thinking

It was a busy weekend, but I got a card done today too! Yay!

All paper except for the card base is from scraps. Brads are Making Memories; I used glitter pens but it didn't come all that great on the pic.

The cute witch is from Kathy B's Little Corner.   I posted the spider border link on the previous post.

The witch is in

LOL!! This card cracks me up! That plaid paper just keeps on goin'....All card stock is TPC and some from scraps. Ribbon is KI, the spider brad from my stash.

The witch legs are different from the one I posted a couple of days ago. You can grab it if you wish, down below along with the title. The cauldron is a freebie Tricia shared last year, Little Scraps of Heaven; the download link is still working. I don't remeber where I grabbed the drippy goo, if you recognize, please let me know so I can give proper credit.

Happy Halloween!

I'm  falling behind in responding to email and visiting blogs, I will get to emails and visting you all this weekend.  Love to see what all of you are creating!  I need to leave as soon as get this post done, need to pick up Dulce from school.  We get to hang out today...going to Joann's  and she's starting on her halloween cards today too.

I used the same plaid paper from yesterday's card and dirtied it up a bit with black chalk. Love how the web border came out! I searched the web and found that the corner web and the web border is from Amy at Sensationally Chic Boutique. Ribbon is from my stash.

Boo!

You'll be seeing some Halloween cards  for the next week or so along with Halloween SVGs.  I hope you don't get tired of them.

I'm using paper I've been hoarding for over 5+ years. Yeppers, "my name is Yolie and I am a paper hoarder!"
The orange spider paper maybe from Miss Elizabeth's paper, not sure.  The cardstock is TPC and some from scraps.  I don't remember where I picked up the spider web corners; the spider is from Little Scraps of Heaven, a file she shared last year and you can still download it for free.

Now onto the witch's legs...I cut the legs on purple because out of all the paper I own hoard I didn't have any paper that would coordinate.  So I used ribbon from KI, I think it works, looks like silk stockings...LOL. Please note the circles on the cut file will not cut.
I ran the shoes through my Xyron, then sprinkled Pink Paislee Pixie dust.  I sealed it, with some Mod Podge.

Scaredy Cat!

I tried lifting a card from Lorie, but my first mistake I didn't cut the card base square. Geez!  I did try to do the same layering but then changed it up a bit...well more than just a bit.
I had the cat pattern paper forever.  Ribbon is KI self adhesive, brads are Making Memories.
I don't know where I picked up the cat, if you recognize it, please let me know so I can give proper credit.

Birthday Card

This card is for my dear friend Angie.  I used the same cut file I posted yesterday.
Pattern paper and ribbon is DCWV. Card base & title is TPC and from scraps; bling is Darice.

This is my father-in-law's birthday card, he's 70 today!  My mother-in-law robbed the craddle! LOL

Pattern paper is DCWV, card base TPC all other is from scraps.  Ribbon is American Crafts.  Pretty simple card...it's card to create for men, especially my FIL...I hope he doesn't notice the pink!! LOL

MIL Birthday Card

My mother-in-law is 75 today!!  Yay!  Here's the card I gave her.   Isn't she a cutie?! She's from the Girly Girl collection by Treasure Box Designs.

The pattern paper on the base of the card is My Mind's Eye. I used Debbie Mum's paper for her dress.  The embossed strip is the oops from the altered notebook, you know the one that shrunk?  All other paper are from scraps.
Rhinestones are Darice; the lace and flowers I bought at Dollar Tree; the purple ribbon and the 'happy birthday' stamp are from Michael's dollar bin.

MIL Altered Notebook

I searched high and low for paper to coordinate with the fabric used on the altered tote. This is the closest I got, not a perfect match at all, but I'm trying oh so very hard not to run to purchase more paper.  Gotta use what I have.
The pattern paper is Colorbok, I had for a very long time. The cardstock is TPC. I used my new pink ATG gun to adheare the paper...love it! Ribbon is from Michael's dollar bin; pearl swirlys are Want2Scrap. I didn't have any pearls for the flower centers so I used white brads by Basic Grey. Flower are from my stash.  The mat is one of Penny's shapelies.  And of course I used my homemade shimmer.
Now let me tell you about the embossing, maybe you already know this. I cut the purple strip slightly longer so I can trim it after I glue it down. Well, did you know that paper shrinks when you emboss?!! I didn't, why didn't someone tell me!? LOL I thought I was loosing it!! I cut the strip 3 times, yes 3 times, until I figured it out! Geez! LOL

Cely's SVG Challenge {Creating in Carolina}

This is the card I just submitted for Cely's challenge, Creating in Carolina. She extended the challenge to Friday, so there's still time for you to submit your card!

The callenge is to use one of her free cuts, I used her pumpkins. I also used one of SVG Cuts freebie from the My Mom's Attic collection.
Pattern paper is from DCVW Indian Summer Stack; cardstock is TPC; ribbon is by Wyla; rhinestones from Darice I used Aileen's Fast Grab Tacky glue. It works just like the Tombow Metal liguid glue AND it's cheaper!
Except for the card base, all paper is from scraps, yay me! LOL
Do you see all the shimmer?? ooooohhhh so pretty! My homemade glimmer mist love it!

Altered Canvas Tote

What do you think? I had planned to alter a tote for awhile now but never got around to it. I got the inspiration from Samantha, More Paper Please. My mother-in-law will be joining me on the women's bible study and this is for her to carry her book and notepad. I plan to alter a sprial notebook and include it with the bag as a gift for her birthday on Saturday.

The fabric is from some scraps that were given to me. I had just enough to cut two pieces; it's sheer so I had enough to cut two pieces and used fusible interface. I sewed both pieces together but I was only able to sew the top of the square onto the bag. I didn't have fabric glue so I used Aileeen's Fast Grab Glue to attach the rest. I covered the edges with ribbon from Michael's dollar bin and added the buttons along the side just in case the glue doesn't do it's job, but so far so good. LOL
The flowers are from my stash and I stitched them on with buttons I bought at Walmart; Favorite Findings.

I wanted to add another fabric on to the bag but I didn't have anything else that will coordinate and really didn't want to go out and buy any more fabric. I want to use what I have. Can you relate? {heavy sigh}

Side Hinge Card Swap

This is a side hinge card I made for October's card swap over at Creative Inspirations & Friendship forum. The sign up deadline is September 30th and the mail out deadline is October 30th, so you still have time to join us!

Pattern paper is DCWV, Indian Summer and TPC cardstock. Ribbon is Wyla; leaves and glitter brads from my stash.
Isn't the scarecrow the cutest!! It's one of Shelly's file, you can buy it here.
The "Autumn Wishes" title is my own and can be found here. I cut the title at 3.221 x 2.319, and it cut just fine, but I wouldn't cut any smaller.
The mat is a free file from SVG Cuts, it was from the Mom's Attic Collection
I also embossed the hat with Swiss Dots and the mat with the Swirls, both Cuttlebug folders.
