WoW Wednesday w/ Heartstring Designs

♥ This Man

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways... {Poem by Elizabeth Barret Browning}

Today is one of those days I really needed to count the ways.  My dear husband left gum in his shirt pocket.  Washed it. Dried it. My dryer is a mess.  So yes.....
"I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace."

Now onto to my page, I purchased a piece of balsa wood to try out my Latina Crafter dies. I've used the viewmaster die to cut cork paper and made my own embossing sheet, details on this post.  It was time to test it on wood and oh boy it cut beautifully!!  I purchased the wood at Joann's, I believe it was $3.99 and used a coupon, of course.
Here's a close up of the viewmaster wood cutout.

Photo Props

Friday night or I should say Saturday morning I went to bed at 2am and got up at 4am. There was no messing around. I had put the final touches on the treat boxes for Dulce's Quince, complete the photo props and some other details for her big shindig.

Lots of labels in this photo, 200 to be exact.  The labels are placed inside of the lid. 100% completion, more photos of the treat boxes and candy bar to come.

I cut the photo props from Designs On Cloud 9, Mustache Party.

Here are the props, lots of mustaches, lips, glasses and a couple of derbies.  The speech bubble is a cut from SCAL program and I used chalk board paper.  I wrote a short message and it works perfectly!  My sister had extra long skewers for the 'staches that worked out perfectly! Woohoo!

The flower on the derby is from the Welcome Spring collection.

Here is Dulce's Mom spray painting the wooden frames I purchased at Michaels.  Also being used as photo props.  Some Michaels have them on clearance for $3.

Here's a couple of the frames completed.....so pretty!!!!

Here are the links to the cutting patterns I used:

Party Hashtag {DC9 New files & Freebie}

Dulce's big Quince party is just around the corner.  This frame will sit next to the guest book.  I have removed the hashtag for a little privacy.  LOL!  I don't know if that is even possible on Instagram! But it's only available to the her party guests.

The rose mesh was a Designs On Cloud 9 freebie a several weeks ago, but you can still get it for .99.   I also used it on the invitations. I will be sharing the photos of the invites very soon, like later today.  I resized the file to fit th 8x10 frame I purchased at Michael's for $10.

Check out DC9 New Release!!!

And oh boy check out the NEW FREEBIE!!!!  It's a file I requested and I can't hardly wait to play with it!!
Thanks for stopping by....see you in a bit!

Happy You {DIY Embossing Sheet}

Happy Friday!! Sharing a layout of my Sweet Dulce today. I created my own embossing sheet using Latina Crafter's Viewmaster Photo Reel die.

This is how I created the embossing sheet: I cut several photo reels out of paperboard {recycling a priority mail envelope} it's what I had. I glued three of them together. Then cut a sheet that fits my Cuttlebug. I then glued them onto the sheet. Next, I embossed my paper using both B plates and the embossing mat by Spellbinders. Depending on the thickness of the paperboard, you may need a shim. Please note, do not make your "sandwich" to thick or you risk breaking your machine.

I also cut a photo reel out the cork paper and stamped a sunburst. The smile wood button was actually a stick pin, but the pin fell off. LOL  For this layout, I like it better as a button. :) All paper is from the Echo Park Kit, For the Record.  This is the first time I use cork paper, loved the texture, but I had to glue down everything because the tape wasn't sticking.
I used the sketch provided at the Paper Secrets challenge.  You may want to check out their shop, sale going on 30% off until July 31st.
