CWC Challenge #57 Scarecrows

There's a new challenge over at Cooking with Cricut: it's all about scarecrows, crows and hay.  The scarecrow and pumpkin are from Celebrate with Flourish cartridge.  The wagon with hay is from Pop up neighborhood cartridge.  The crow is from Paper Crafting World, it was too cute to pass it up. :)  Paper: DCWV, MAMBI and Co-oredinations.  The twine is from The Twinery; buttons and bling from my stash.

The pictures were taken last year at our local pumpkin patch.  I don't have many pictures of this day so I'm making a 8x8 photo book.  Should be easier to complete, I think? :)  Please stop by and check out with the amazing CWC DT has designed for you! :)

Happy Halloween!

I created this layout for my Roberts Crafts DT day; a not so spooky Halloween layout.
I used DCWV paper and The Paper Company card stock. The cuts are from Paper Dolls Dress Up and October 31st Cricut cartridges.  I also did some stamping; the Happy Halloween, trick or treat and eek! are by Inkadinkadoo stamps.

Candy Corn Family

The image is from Fresh Brewed Designs and colored it using Bic Mark It markers. I used DCWV and Echo Park paper; glitter by Studio G.  The sentiment is by Inkadinkado and twine from The Twinery.

I'm entering into their color challenge FBC#69.

El Cucuy Blog Hop

Welcome to the El Cucuy AKA The Boggieman blog hop!!  This is the last stop of the hop.   You don't want to miss out on all the fabulous Halloween creations, so please start from the beginning and don't forget to leave a comment. :)
As your host, I came up with the theme of the hop, but I couldn't get myself to make something "cucuy (boogieman) worthy!  I had a card in mind, but couldn't get myself to make it....it was too creepy for me. LOL  I'm a big scaredy cat, so I consider this creepy. :)  When was about 6, I was a terror!  My aunt Carmen couldn't handle me anymore.  So she would tell me spooky stories and told me that the cucuy was going to get me if I continued to be bad.  It was a different time back then although I have used it with my nieces and nephews but it didn't really work.  LOL  Here's the screen shot of my almost "creepy" card:

So here are the cards I did manage to make, not creepy but spooky cute! :):)  The candy monsters are digi stamps from Fresh Brewed Designs.  The sentiment "I heart candy" is from Crafty Sprouts, Let's Go Blog Hopping, stamp set.  I also did some masking for the second sentiment, "I heart candy corn".  The word corn is from a different stamp set, but here's the sentiments I used.

Erika from Crafty Sprouts is sponsoring the hop! Thanks Erika!  Please leave a comment on every blog for a chance to win Crafty Sprouts stamp set Totally Witchin.  I will announce the winner on Monday, October 24th.

And here's the super duper pooper scooper talented line up!!!

Elsa - Cricut Lover

Erika -Crafty Sprouts

Gaby - Gaby Creates

Patty - Creative Diva

Ruthie - September Ninth

Xochitl - Cricut Critter

Yolie - JustYolie

Sorry for the pooper scooper, but those are the words I can think of right now that rhyme with super duper. LOL

Cooking with Cricut Challenge #56

I made the Cooking with Cricut Design Team! Yay! This is the first challenge I'm participating as a member of the Dt.  The challenge is to use purple, green and follow the sketch below.  I used the postage cut from the Sentimentals cart and the pumpkin with flourish from Scary and Chic.  The adorable bear is a digi stamp from Paper Crafting World, you can find it here.  The ticket stub and the "treat" are both by Inkadinkadoo stamps.

Happy 'Owl'oween FBD Challenge #67

The owl on pumpkin is a spanking new digi stamp by Fresh Brewed Designs....I love owls, on paper that is.  I'm afraid of the real ones, they are all over my neighborhood and I have a couple nesting on my roof. Not cute! LOL   The sentiment is from the Ows2Love stamp set by Stamps of Life.

I'm entering the card to Fresh Brewed Designs Challenge #67, create anything using pumpkins and to challenge #69 use black, orange and purple.

PCW: Chocolate Cupcake Challenge

We will start a new season of challenges on Friday at  Paper Crafting World!  Our first challenge for the Autumn term is to create using a chocolate cupcake or cake.

This is Betsy! The newest addition to the Cutie Patootie Collection, isn't she the cutest!  I created the circle flourish with shapes in SCAL2.  The sentiment stamp is by Fiskars.
Here's one of the sketches we were asked to follow:

I tried following the sketch on my second, but it took on a mind of its own. :)  Another Cutie Patootie, Suzee.  She borrowed the shoes from the Kisses 2U Bear and she's holding the newest swirly cupcake.  The flower medallion and the celebrate title are also PCW cutting files.

Please stop by PCW blog for the more details on the challenge.  PCW is the sister blog of Cooking with Cricut.

LUFP: Scrapbook layout

Hi, this is Gaby from www.gabycreates.com

I am still super excited to see all that pink everyday I open my blog!!  Gorgeous creations everybody is linking!!  There's still time!  Hope you can link up your pink project with us!!

Today I have a layout with a pocket to hold the number and pamphlets from the Susan G Komen 5K that my sister and I participate on.  And of course a picture or a strip of pictures in the pocket.

My niece lost the camera from last year, so this year we will make sure she does not hold the camera.

The picture you see I "borrowed" from the Susan G. Komen site. I adhered it with removable tape to be able to replace it after the run/walk on Oct 16th.

I used my SilhouetteSD for the title; Fiskars punches Large and XLarge for the clouds; MS heart edge punch; Hero Arts kids at play stamp; Hero Arts and Studio Calico for the cloud background stamps and MyCreativeTime's stamp set for the sentiments (One of our LUFP sponsors!)

Here' my project, a candle wreath. Aren't those roses gorgeous!? I used a 4" foam ring, covered it with pink organza.  I used a ruffled edge ribbon to cover the side and added large rhinestones to fill up some of the spaces.   I cut 2 scallops; one pink polka dot paper; another out of a cereal box and glued them together.   Lastly, I added the pink butterfly I purchased at Dollar Tree. :)

LUFP: Guest Designer Lynne

I was thrilled when Yolie asked me to be a Guest Designer for Link Up for Pink. This is a very important cause for me as it concerns not only millions of other women but it affected me!

Let me tell you my story . . . I wasn't due to get my mammogram until January but my daughter had asked me to meet her for her sonogram beginning of December to see what the sex of my first grandchild was. While we were waiting, we were talking and she said since you're here why not see when you can get your mammogram appointment. Divine intervention was looking down on us that day because when I went over to the desk, they just happened to have an appointment and I could have it done after Jen's sonogram. Well, it was discovered Jen was having a "princess" and my mammogram went fine. I got a phone call Christmas Eve with the news that there were abnormalities and I would need a biopsy which was scheduled for January 3rd. I went January for my biopsy and markers were left inside the breast due to an undetermined mass.

My life got crazy as I was to see a surgeon to have the markers removed with a determinations as to the mass. My surgery kept getting postponed and rescheduled. My mom was diagnosed with lung cancer in November and I was still running her to her chemo appointments when my dad's health start failing. Mom was getting more and more confused with the chemo and it was determined that her lung cancer had spread to her brain. My dad passed the end of January, Lily was born the beginning of March, and my mom passed on March 24th, the day of my surgery.

It was determined with the mass removed and a 2-inch scar on my right breast that I have atypical ductal hyplasia which is basically pre-cancer cells in the milk ducts and makes me a high-risk cancer patient. What does this mean? It means that I need to go to the Hillman center and have mammograms twice a year. There are a lot of women that walk around with this diagnosis and need to watch and monitor.

I'm lucky that I'm just a high-risk cancer patient but its scary walking around knowing this!!!!! Thus breast cancer awareness is a personal cause for me! Please be sure to do self-breast examination and have your mammogram after the age of 40 unless there is cancer in your family!!!! Do this for yourself and your famly! I know I want to be around to see my granddaughter grow up and see that precious smile. I will do this for myself and for her!!

My project is a card which I cut with my paper cutter. There are bras hanging on a pink polka dot ribbon clothes line with little tiny clothes pins. The bras were cut using Forever Young Cartridge. The little birdie on the inside was cut using Create a Critter. I cut the bras with fun colored scraps I had and even included a white bra for the utilitarian in us! The card was cut using one of my favorite paper stacks Linen and Lace. The breast cancer awareness ribbon the birdie is wearing is a brad.

Hope you not only enjoy my project but get your mammogram and do a monthly self-examination. Early detection is the key!

I do have blog candy --- I have some breast cancer awareness buttons. Please leave a comment on my blog and if you are not already a follower, I would love to have you follow me as I have a great Guest Design Team and we have a lot of fun projects!

Thank you for stopping by

God Bless

Hugs and Love,

Lynne
