Upcycle Jars {Gold Christmas}

Save your jars and save a buck or two. The two shown are a strawberry preserves and a pickle jar. Below is the photo of the supplies you will need. I will have a few more jars ready to upcycle before Christmas comes along.

Here is what you will need: jars, your favorite word dies or shapes {The Spanish dies I used are from Latina Crafter}, 2mm foam and strong adhesive, Krylon 18 kt Gold Paint.

Here's a tip, use a beige color foam or use chipboard.  I used what I had in the craftroom.  Took a couple more coats of paint to cover the white foam but the Krylon 14kt Gold spray paint has great coverage.  Also, keep a toothpick on-hand to scrape off the excess glue off the glass and the foam.

Here are the results.
Depending on the words or shapes you are planning on using, a short and wider jar would work best. I used three coats of paint to cover the white foam and love how the foam appears glittery.  I decorated the jar by adding a cluster of poinsettias with red rhinestones centers.

I will be placing battery operated tea lights and as mentioned above, I used three coats because I want the light to shine through.
I hope I have inspired you to save those jars and use them on your next project.  Thank you for stopping by today.

#LatinaCrafter Party Dressform

There's still time to play along with this month's sketch challenge with Latina Crafter.  This month's sketch also has a twist, use stitching on your project.  I used the stamp set Bordes de costuras.
I used the dressform from the stamp set La magia está en los detalles.  To add the extra fluff to the dress, I cut the the skirt outline slightly larger, then added the different color ribbon.  The pattern paper is from a value pack by Amy Tang.  The faux flair button is a stamp set from Las Mañanitas.  I finished it off with sequins y twine.

Hope to see your creations linked and thanks for stopping by.  Here is the sketch and the products used linked to the shop:

Frosty Holidays

This month's challenge at the My~Besties Spanish Blog is all about Christmas. Come on over and play! You may also used the challenge badge as a sketch on any type of project.

I used one of my favorite Christmas cuties and followed the "sketch":
Brought all of the Christmas bins and uncovered an older stack by Recollections paper.  I used some of the scraps on this card. I colored her with Spectrum Noir markers, used some clear glitter, added the wood veneer snowflakes, tied some twine and of course she's bilingual, I stamped the greeting with Latina Crafter's stamp set.  I also used LC's Polaroid die.  Below is the image linked to the My~Besties' Etsy Shop:

#LatinaCrafter September Release

I love new product releases! Yesterday Latina Crafter released SIX new word dies and FIVE new wood veneer collections.  Before we get to them, I want to share the cards I created using the new products:

Here is one using the "Hola" word die along with Basic Grey pattern papers.  I have to admit, I've been asking, no wait begging that quickly turned to nagging, for the "Hola" die!  I'm so stoked to finally have it!!  The cute buttons were part of a kit and grab box from LC.

Here are two more of the dies, "Feliz" and "Cumpleaños" along with the Birthday wood veneer collection.  The pattern paper by DCWV Vintage Collector.  I used the envelope punch board to create the tiny envelope.  I forget how easy it is to use!

That curly "g"! Love this word die!  It cuts "Amigas" plural of friends, but I trimmed off the "s".  The embellishments including the resin frame were part of a grab box.  Pattern paper by My Mind's Eye, Dorothy colleciton.

And here is the COMPLETE NEW  product release!!

Hello My Name Is...

That Nutcracker!!  He looks so handsome on 'chalkboard' and he's also on the inside of the card! LOL  For this card I used two of Pink and Main's newest release, Sugarplums and Ho Ho Ho.  The "hello" badge is from the stamp set Noted.  The paper is a 6x6 pad from Echo Park.
