I have been searching for a large AFFORDABLE cutting mat for awhile now. Came close in purchasing a quilting mat, but I felt it was too thin. So yesterday my husband and I were out in Hemet visiting friends and we made a stop at Michael's. I love that Michael's store! It's a lot bigger than my Michael's. I found two Martha Stewart's Playground paper pad for $2.99 each. The cashier didn't want to scan my coupon for an additional 20% off, after giving me a lecture on how coupons are not valid on clearance items I asked her in the nicest way to scan it. Well, she did and I saved an additional $.60 on each pad.
AND I FOUND A CUTTING MAT! The cutting mat was $7.99!!!! Yes that's right, it was $44.99 measures 23" x 17" What a bargain, wouldn't you agree?! I found it on the way out; on the floor with the clearance paint brushes, ah to think I almost missed it. I also got the mini misters and handed her the 40% coupon. {Planning to use those for my homemade shimmer mist.}
So this afternoon I was checking my receipt and realized the 40% coupon discounted $3.20, but the misters were only $4.99. hmmm? I looked carefully and lo and behold I actually saved $3.20 on the mat!!! I only paid $4.79 for it!! So much for the cashier's coupon lecture. And because I am a frugalista, I plan to return the misters, at my Michael's, and buy them back using a coupon.
Now the big challenge: Clean my desk. {sigh} I've been cleaning my room for about 2 weeks now. So I ask myself, why did I need a bigger mat when I only work off a 6"x 6" space on my desk?
