Be Mine Card

I always start early creating cards and I always fall behind. I still have a couple more cards to do, here's one I created last night.

When I first searched for free svg's I wasn't good about organizing them so more than half of the files I have collected, I don't remember where I got them. If you recognize the cut file, please let me know so I can give proper credit.

I created the card with a border and the basic square in SCAL1. I used the weld feauture and kept a part of the original border. I used my $5 Sizzix Texture Boutique (hehehe) and the Paisley Cuttlebug folder to emboss the card. The eyelet border is also a cut I collected early on and dont' remember where I got it. The heart border is from a Kid Stamp Kit by Hampton Art, I purchased for $.23 clearanced at Michaels! It had 6 cards with envelopes, 6 inch borders, stickers and 4 rubber wood stamps. Not bad.

The doilly heart and the "Be Mine" title are my files and I used Zots to adhere them {you can find the files on older posts}. All cardstock is Re-collections and the pattern paper is DCWV. I also sprayed the title and the doilly with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Mist and finished it off by rounding the corners with Creative Memories punch. Whatcha think?

Hi, Yolie,
I was wondering what you do with your free svg files now. I have the same problem - I have zillions of free svgs and the most of the creators don't make a zip file with their names included, so I don't remember where I got them.
Please share your system. What do you do?
Thanks - Evelyn

Hi Evelyn,

I created folders to save the files. For instance, I have a folder for Swirls, Borders, Boxes, Cards, Titles, Boy, Girl etc.
Sometimes the creators include their initials in the file name but I still find it hard to identify. I like to include a link to their blog or website, if I use their image. What I do know is after I download the file, I include the name of the blog or site at the end of the file name. That makes a lot easier on me. I hope this helps.

Thanks for visiting my blog!

I make folders, too, to organize my files and to be able to find them later. I also copy a picture of the finished product so I know what it's supposed to look like. I like your idea of adding the name to the file name. That makes sense. Thanks for sharing your system with me.
