Not so traditional Christmas

Hello and Happy Friday!!  Well, as you may already know, Autumn made it's appearance yesterday, but at the time I created my card, it was feeling more like Summer.

So here you go, a Summery Christmas card, makes me crave watermelon.

I took a pink and green watercolor marker and randomly eBrushed them on watercolor paper.

I wanted shimmer, so I lightly sprayed the Glimmer Mist.

I then embossed it with Teresa Collin's Cabana embossing folder.

I used the newest word dies from Pink and Main.  Love that it comes with the background die cut as well.  Oh that font is gorgeous!!  Cuts beautifully on the Cut N' Boss.

I added silver jewelry string and embellished with glittery enamel dots.

I love it! Now for some watermelon!
Thank you for visiting and enjoy your weekend!

Midnight Dreary #eBrush

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore—
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
“’Tis some visitor,” I muttered, “tapping at my chamber door—
Only this and nothing more.” -- Edgar Allen Poe, The Raven

It's Halloween time and time for some serious Edgar Allen Poe readings.  Which is your favorite?  The Raven of course is my all time favorite.

This week is our third week  Teresa Collins product spotlight.  I received the Cabana and Diamond embossing A6 folders.  I embossed white card stock using the Cabana embossing folder on the Cut N' Boss.

Have you had a technique fail?  I have had plenty of them.  I was planning on doing the emboss resist, but the embossing powder I used has a bit of glitter.  So when I went to rub off the excess ink, the cotton pad snagged on the glitter and left a big fuzz on the card stock.   So back to square one.  This time, I decided to eBrush the background and leave it as is.
I used the Versa Marker and applied it to the embossed stripes, then dusted the iridescent embossing powder.

The iridescent background looks amazing, difficult to capture on film, but trust me it looks great.

The title, banner and the witches are all cuts from Cricut's Design Studio.  I used DCWV's 2016 Halloween Night Stack.

I tried to capture the iridescent background on these darker photos, you'll need to look closely, it's there. :)

Thank you for stopping by today and enjoy your weekend.

Grateful #Craftwell

Did you know Autumn is just 2 weeks away?!  'Tis the season for Autumn Crafts.  Ok so I may have gotten a head start, but it's my favorite time of the year.  So let's get started with a gilded card using this month's sponsor product from Teresa Collins.

I will showing 2 gilding techniques.  I used the Cabana A6 embossing folder for the top layer of the card.  I added Scor Tape to the embossed stripes then trimmed off the excess.

I took a sheet of gold Deco Foil, placed on top of the card layer and ran it through my vintage laminator.

I then ran the bottom layer of the card and embossed it using the 8" x 12" Brocade embossing folder.

Here's the 2nd gilding technique;  I ran a glue stick along the edges of the embossed paper, gave it about 30 seconds to dry and then applied the foil sheet.  It doesn't have to be perfect, I just wanted a bit of the gold to peek through.

I embellished the card with Prima pretties, seam binding ribbon, a few Cricut sprig cuts and sentiment.

Here you go, my gilded Grateful card.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

Autumn Birthday #TheCuttingCafe

Our first project of the month for The Cutting Cafe is an Autumn card using a digital card set, Autumn Frame Sentiments.

There are 2 cards on a PDF sheet.  I used the Autumn Birthday.  I first printed a copy on regular paper, I then trimmed the pattern paper to fit the front of the card.  The pattern paper is from the 6" x 6" DCWV Autumn Leaves.
I secured the pattern paper with washi tape and then ran through the printer.

Before adhering the front panel of the card, I added a jute, flowers, Autumn leaves and completed the card with enamel dots.

Here is a closer look at the beautiful Prima flowers.

I hope you enjoyed my version of the Autumn Frame Sentiments.  Please visit The Cutting Cafe blog for inspiration from the Design Team.

Thank you for visiting.

Boo #DCWV #TheCuttingCafe

Hello and happy Tuesday, today's project share is a Halloween shadow box using the DCWV 12" x 12" Halloween Night Stack available at Joann's.

I found a great deal on a 8" x 10" shadow box frame at my local store.  I used a witch pattern card from The Cutting Cafe and cut it on the Cricut Explore.  If you don't own a Cricut, no worries the PDF format is included.
I resized the witch file to fit the frame  and used different pattern paper.
I used plenty of Glue Dots to pop the background sentiment and the witch's legs.

I must admit, I'm diggin' her knit leggings!
I hope you enjoyed my Halloween decor and thanks for visiting today.  Happy crafting.

Diamonds and Glitz #Craftwell

Hello September!!
I'm starting off the month over at the Craftwell blog with Teresa Collins' new A6 embossing folders.

I created the most beautiful background using the Diamonds embossing folder.  The A6 size folders are the perfect size for card making and they are 2 embossing folders in the pack.

The results from the Cut N' Boss are always the same, nice and crisp embossing!  I used glitter paper  from DCWV The Glitzy Stack and it looks gorgeous!

I cut a banner dove tail to  stamp the sentiment from Pink and Main's Bling retired stamp set.

"Never let anyone dull your SPARKLE"  I'm so loving this card!  I outlined the sentiment with a Gelly Roll glitter pen, added silver jewelry string and organza ribbon.

I took a photo with flash so you can see the glitz!

I hope you enjoyed my card and thank you for visiting.
