Diva and a challenge

I'm so honored to be February's Diva of the month over at Creative Scrapbooking Divas!  As diva of the  month, I get to choose this month's challenge.  My challenge is to create a card or layout using recycled materials.  Please note, if you are creating a layout, make sure it doesn't touch your photos or treat the item with Archival Mist.

Here's the card I created with recycled materials:

I saved the foil wrappers of Almond Roca candy because it had the cutest hearts, who knows how long I've had them; the chipboard was packaging material.

I cut the foil with my MM Slice, then used the shadow feature to cut the red scrap cardstock. I then used Inkadinkado Spray Paint to cover the chipboard. The brown polka dot paper is from scraps from another card. I punched the border using EK Success border punch, then I chalked the edges. The ribbon is self-adhesive by Joann's Crafts. I attached the chipboard and the hearts with pop dots. The sentiment was stamped on strip of scrap and inked the edges. I used The Stamps of Life using Fiskars ink. For the final touch, I added the rhinestones from Darice with Aileen's Fast Grab Glue.

If you wish to participate in the challenge, please become a member of Creative Scrapbooking Divas.  I will be offering a RAK and the winner will be selected on March 1st.

One for the Boys Challenge

Over at The Crafty Pad, the challenge is to create one for the boys.  I used Melin's, Cooking with Cricut, sketch.  This was the perfect challenge to create my Valentine's card for my Godson.

Celebrating Our Milestones - Day 2 {CLOSED}

Thanks for being here again for day two of Celebrating Our Milestones.  Did you hop with us yesterday? If not, please see the post right below this one; I don't want you to miss out on the wonderful layouts and the chance to win some blog candy!  Some of us will have a project to share with you today too.  So lets get to it.

Continuing with my European trip, today I'm sharing a layout London, Buckingham Palace.  London was the first leg of our trip.  The young lady in the picture is my niece Irene, she was studying in Italy at the time and met us in London.
If you look closely, my dear husband is the only one in the crowd wearing shorts! LOL  My niece told us it was hot and humid in Italy, not London, and he wore shorts.  See how he even has his collar button up?  He ended up buying a jacket with a hood, at Picadilly Circus.  I had straightened my hair and as soon as I walked out the fog got to it, you can see it frizzing right before your eyes, wait if you listened closely you can even here it! LOL  The page before has my journaling, so I'm just sharing one page today.

 Paper: MME Bohemia, Co'redinations
Flowers:  Petaloo
Bling: Darice
Stickers: Creative Memories, EK Success, Miss Elizabeth
(pretend you don't notice how crooked I placed them)
Die Cuts: I created the title using Scriptina and cut
 with SCAL on my Cricut, the crown is a free SVG from Cheeky Magpie.

The Giveaways are listed on the post below.  Comments submitted today will get you extra entries, but remember you must leave a comment on each blog for Day One of the blog hop.

I hope you enjoy the hop as much as I did!

Día de Reyes Blog Hop {CLOSED}

I'm super excited to be participating on my very first blog hop, thank you Gaby for including me!
Growing up we didn't celebrate Día de Reyes, it was a tradition lost in translation, but when we found out there were gifts invovled, we gave it a try.  We decided to place our "big" shoes outside our parents bedroom, mind you I was about 12 and the oldest kids were teens.  We were hoping our Dad would put a little something, ah nope, we woke to our shoes been scattered across the hallway.  He must of tripped over them when he got up! LOL  It's wasn't sad, it was hilarious to us, because we know our Dad, we still laugh about it today.  So my sister, Letty, Dulce's mom, picked up the tradition with her kids.

Here's the Spanglish sign I created for her home, tradition calls for the kids to place their shoes out, but I included her shoe on the sign too!

Paper: DCWV Christmas '10, Recollections
Chipboard: more like cereal boxes
Adhesives: 3M 2-Way, Tombow, ATG Gun
Bling:  Stickles, Darice, Studio 112, Me & My Big Ideas
Ribbon: Michael's
Cartridges: Forever Young, Nifty Fifites

Pre-Reyes Blog Hop to celebrate the Reyes Cabalgata! GIVEAWAY!

Gaby  has a pre-Reyes Blog Hop Giveaway, please go on over and leave a comment!  She will have more prizes starting tomorrow and I too will have blog candy.

Abby's Anniversary/Wedding Challenge

Abby's is celebrating her anniversary with a challenge, to create anything anniversary or wedding.  My 8th wedding anniversary is February 15th, yep the day after Valentine's Day.  Here's the card I created for the hubster.  The stamps are from TPC Studio I won at Gloria's blog.  I heat embossed the frame and should have done the same with the I love you too, oh well.  I also used on of Penny's shapelie cuts.  The color looks black but it's purple, my wedding colors.

CPS- Card Challenge #199

Here's the card I'm entering for this week's challenge over at CPS.
And here's the sketch.

All paper is  K & Company.  The stamp is from Stampendous, Fifteen Candles stamp set.  I used a Sizzix folder on my Cuttlebug.  Can't capture the bling on the Stickles and Darice rhinestones, along with glitter pens...it looks better in person! :)

Please come back on Thursday, January 6th  as I will participate on my first Blog Hop hosted by Gaby Creates, Dia De Reyes Blog Hop.
