Winter Wonderland Blog Hop

Happy Black Friday!! I hope you are scooping up some amazing deals! Today is the last day of the month long Winter Wonderland Hop with DCWV and Eileen Hull.  Both teams are featuring the twist and style tool with DCWV's Christmas Stacks.  Here is my desk top Christmas tree.

I used The Christmas Plaid Stack, Twist and Style tool, wire, twine, metal dies and Christmas metal charms.  The Twist and Style is super easy to use, but Eileen has great step-by-step video tutorials.

For my project, I upcycled a tin can to make a desktop Christmas tree.

I used A Jillian Vance's dies to make the poinsettia and the bow.

I used both wire and cotton twine to make the spiral part of the Christmas tree.  Here is a closeup of the twisted wire and the bow topper.

I used Blue Moon Beads charms as Christmas tree ornaments.

Here is my completed Christmas tree!  Love it!

I added a battery operated votive candle and here is my little Christmas tree lit!

I hope you have enjoyed my project today.  Enjoy your Black Friday Shopping!

Happy Harvest #AJillianVanceDesign

Happy Thanksgiving! Today I am sharing some super easy and fast treat bags I made.

I used the following A Jillian Vance Design products:  goody bag, circle tag, leaf, banner, chain border and the Autumn Blessing stamp set.

I cut all the pieces using DCWV Autumn Leaves, folded and tape together the goody bags and ran the other cuts through the Xyron mini sticker maker.

So easy to make and a time saver!  I will most certainly be making a Christmas version.

I was going to add a gem to the leaf, but I found the navy blue jute ribbon instead so I made bows and they were done.  Love them!

I want to remind you of the Stampalooza Sale going on right now!  Amazing savings, don't miss it!

I hope you have a blessed day with family and friends celebrating Thanksgiving.

Altered Wood Houses #CranberryChristmas DCWV

Today's project is an altered Christmas project featuring DCWV'S Cranberry Christmas Stack available at Michaels Stores.

I altered Spring wood shape houses I purchased on clearance, but I am certain you can find similar ones at your local craft store.  You will also need Mod Podge, Fiskars paper trimmer, sponge brush, ruler, scissors, Glue Dots and acrylic paint.

I painted all the edges with a copper metallic paint, it was what I had on hand.  While the paint dried, I measured and trimmed the pieces to the houses using different pattern papers.

I used matte finish Mod Podge and glued the paper to the inside and outside of the wood shape houses.

I used the cutout sheets included in the stack to decorate the inside of each house and adhered with Glue Dots.

'Tis the season for crafting, do you have any special projects in mind?  Do any of them include altered wood projects?  Either way, please share them on DCWV's Facebook page, we would love to see them.

Thank you for visiting and Happy Thanksgiving!

Beauty of the Season #AJillianVanceDesign

Happy Thursday, today  I am sharing a Christmas card featuring Let it Snow Stamp set by A Jillian Vance Design.

My card is a simple design, not my usual layered larger card.

I went with a narrow card, it measures 4" x 5 1/2" Kraft base.  I used 2 of the pattern papers.  I tucked the gold foil doily under the pattern pattern paper, covered the raw edge with jute ribbon.  I used gold metallic ink to stamp the sentiment and used pop dots to adhere.
I then took the Prima flower that resembles a poinsettia and glued it down.

I covered the printed star with 2 gold stars near the manger and stopped myself from adding more embellishments.  I felt the sentiment along with the pattern paper was sufficient.  I beautiful reminder of the reason we celebrate Christmas.
Thank you for visiting today, below is the linked photo of the stamp set I used.  Enjoy your day.

With Gratitude #AJillianVanceDesign

Thanksgiving is just a couple of weeks away, share a handmade card to express your gratitude to your loved ones.  I love receiving handmade gifts, they are the best kind of gifts.  Today, I am sharing a card I made using the Mini Bag Mega Die set, Petals & Leaves and Autumn Blessings.

I used Autumn Day by Photo Play Paper, the mini bag, bow and leaf dies.  The mini bag cuts perfectly on a 6" x 6" sheet of paper and also scores the fold lines.

Love the stitched leaves! Perfect cuts!

The card measures 5.25" x 5.25" on a Kraft card base.  I added the layers, washi tape and a gold foil pre-cut scallop border.  I'm totally loving the plaid bow!

I added a strip of bling under the sentiment and a few on the leaves.

In this photo, you can see a gift card fits perfectly in the mini bag.

I hope you enjoyed my card and are inspired to create a handmade card or gift this Thanksgiving to express your gratitude.  Thank you for visiting.

Altered Christmas Gift Box #DCWV

I saved this chocolate box from last year, it was too pretty to toss out in the recycle bin.  So a little TLC was called for.  I used DCWV Christmas Plaid 12"  x 12" Stack available at your local Joann's.

The box has beautiful green foil along the edge, so I didn't cover the edges.  I also used Scor Tape, Glue Dots, Fiskars paper trimmer, hot glue, ruler, ribbon and enamel dots.
I measured the area that I wanted to cover and chose several different pattern paper.  I really love the cut out sheet "Let heaven and nature sing" so I used 2 of the cardinal prints to go with the theme.

I partially covered the bottom of the box with green plaid, the silver foil was too pretty cover up.  I just needed enough to cover the chocolate logo.
I also embellished with red enamel dots.

I added a red wire ribbon to the top of the box to make a wreath and adhered it with hot glue.

I hope you enjoyed my altered Christmas gift box.  Now to fill it with yummy craft items.

Thank you for visiting today.

Gold Wreath #AJillianVanceDesign

I am so thrilled to announce I will be staying for another month as A Jillian Vance Design's Thursday Guest Designer this month.  Truly an honor to continue for another month creating with Jillian's products.

Today, I created a Christmas card using the Delicate Snowflake Trio Die Set and Let it Snow stamp set. I'm also using DCWV Glitzy and Embossed Foil 6" x 6" paper.

I die cut several of the small snowflakes on Gold Glitzy paper, gathered up gold confetti stars, rhinestones and glue dots.  I used the striped gold foil paper as the card base and the embossed wavy gold paper for the top layer.

I arranged the snowflakes to make a wreath and carefully adhered them with mini Glue Dots.

I added the confetti stars and scattered rhinestones throughout the wreath.  I punched a circle out of the white Glitzy paper and stamped the word joy from the Let it Snow stamp set.

It's difficult to capture the glitz and shimmer, but it looks beautiful.  No wreath is complete without a bow.  I found a pre-made gold bow and added it to the bottom of the snowflake wreath.
I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Enjoy the rest of your week.
