January 2011 Project 12

I'm having issues uploading my pictures for Project 12.  I will upload the pics as soon as I can.

I've been having PC issues and today, I finally got my pics to uploaded.  Yay!  Anyway, onto my first Project 12 layout.  My dear friend Gaby kind of challenged me to participate in this project .  You can read more on their site: complete a page or two recapping the month's events.  At the end of the year you'll have a completed "year book".  Easy enough! Well, with the exception of this month having computer problems.  Here is my 2 page layout using the sketch provided on their blog.

The flower paper is from Colorbok, it was a black and white, but I colored the flowers with Creative Memories markers, nothing fancy like Copics, but it works for me.  The orange glitter paper is DCWV and the pattern paper is MAMBI.   The month block was stamped with The Stamps of Life's Calender2Build stamp set, I'll be using this stamp set on my Project 12 pages. :)

My brother Alfonso celebrated his 50th birthday and my sister Letty, surprised him and all of us with a mariachi band.  The title "Cincuenta" translates to "Fifty".  What's up with the puppet?  That's my lil' brother Robert with his puppet, April.  He wasn't giving a show, but dancing with it!  LOL!!  I have a very "eccentric" family, myself excluded. HA!

Sparkling Things Distract Me Blog Hop {CLOSED}

Welcome to Sparkling Things Distract Me blog hop.  If you came from Melissa's you are on the right track.  If you happen to come across my blog and want to join in the fun, please start with Janice's blog.

I created this card for my sister's, Consuelo, 25th wedding anniversary.  The background glitter paper is from DCWV Sweet stack.  The white pearly paper is from Joann's and I embossed with my Cuttlebug.  I got the bling from Michael's dollar bin & the ribbon is from Joann's, it's so pretty.  The thicker ribbon is satin with flocked print.  The thinner ribbon has a beautiful glitter edge.  I must have spent over an hour going through their ribbon by-the-yard.  I sprayed the Prima flowers with my homemade shimmer mist.  I used Gelly Roll Stardust pen on the title, which I cut using my Cricut, I forget which cart.  I hope you like it, for a bigger view, please click on the picture.

Please leave a comment on each blog to win my blog candy and leave a way for me to contact you.  I will be posting the picture of the candy later today.      Here's the stamp set I'm giving away.  I will announce the winner on Tuesday, March 1st.

Your next stop is Leah.

I'm also submitting this card to Fantabulous Cricut's Challenge Me Monday #48.

Hello Friend

The pattern paper is from MAMBI and the brown cardstock from scraps.  The butterflies are from the Spring collection in SCAL.  The flowers and lace are from Dollar Tree and the brown ribbon is Offray.  The stamp is by Stampendous.  I didn't have small enough rhinestones for the center of the butterflies so I used glitter instead.

I'm entering this card in Debi's challenge over at Dizzy Lizzy Creations.   The challenge is to create a card and include a butterfly.

Flashback Friday 8.0

This week's Flashback Friday challenge is to repost your first 3-D project.  I shared this in September 2010 so here it is again.

I bought the wooden frame (5x7) at Joann's for a couple of bucks; I painted the edges with acrylic paints; I adhered the paper with Mod Podge; all paper is K & Co. The stamp is from Heide Grace, Day Dream Believer; the label holder is Making Memories. Flowers are Prima and from my stash. I used Darice rhinestones for the centers. The swirly bling is from Want2Scrap.
