Mustaches, bow ties and sideburns oh my!

Warning: Long Post
What a true treasure.  These cups belonged to my maternal Grandmother, mi Mamá Nacha.  She passed when I was 8, she was beautiful, intelligent, hard working and a woman of God.  She had the most beautiful hazel eyes, but she was also a force to be reckon with. :)  When she fell ill, she gave the cups to my Mom.   They have been around since the early 70's; I remember them since we lived on Blanchard, they survived two moves and multitude of earthquakes.  They have no manufacturer markings, other "Japan" stamped on the bottom.  I do recall drinking from from them just a couple of times and my Mom will quickly wash them and store them in the back of the cupboard.  I'm glad she did.
Back in December, I was searching for mustache paper, stamps etc.  I came across a cup, similar to these, and just then it hit me.  I never knew why the cups had the faux sippy cup cover..... it's 'stache protector!! LOL!!!  OMGoodness it took me that long to figure out what it was!!  Seriously! LOL  I called my Mom to ask her about the mugs and if she was willing to sell them to me.  Yes, I was willing to pay good money for them, but she gave them to me!!!  Yes, they are all mine!!!

Now what's up with the "mostachón"?  Mostachón was a character with a oversized 'stache played by one of the Polivoces, a mexican comedy show from the 70's.  My sister, Letty, has "revived" the show for us and we've been watching episodes on YouTube, including their movies! Ha!  I now understand their jokes!  LOL   Mostachon is also a strawberry meringue dessert!  I just found out what it was today! HA! This year is full of "new" discoveries for me! LOL!!
Why did it take 4 months for me to scrap about my cups?  Because I got emotional every single time!  You see, I've become a cry baby in my old age!  Did I shed a tear while scrapping? Ah, yes and while typing up this post too! LOL

Who will inherit these cups from me?  I have don't have children of my own.  Maybe Dulce, Irene or AC. ??  I won't leave on a sad note, but instead with a little taunting....

To my sisters and brothers; Consuelo, Alfonso, Lucy, Letty, Robert......Bawhahaha!!!  These are all mine!!!
¡Ahí Madre!

what a great page to remember these special things in your life. It is funny when you finally realize something that maybe should have been obvious. But I never would have figured out that those were mustache protectors on those mugs. Great take on The Lollipop Ladies' Challenge.
