"I have a story to tell" Warning: Post is a wee bit long :)

I  have a story to tell...I was born to Socorro and Roberto, both immigrants from Michoacan, Mexico...I am child number 5.....my little brother is a year younger than me, he stole my thunder...I grew up in a drug and gang infested neighborhood in East Los Angeles....I have a story to tell....we grew up poor and my mom sewed some of my clothes out of remnants...my Mom was diagnosed with lupus when I was about 7 years old, I was young and I wish I could have done more to help her...I have a story to tell....I am now 42 and I had my share of mistakes, trials and tribulations, but with God by my side whom shall I fear?

Boy oh boy did I ever struggle with this challenge.  Above is just an excerpt of my hidden journaling.  I'm sure most of you have seen shirts with the saying "Scrap booking is cheaper than therapy"?  I don't know if that is true but I can tell you it IS therapy. :)

I'm entering this layout in Jessica's challenge over at CSDivas.  You can hop on over and check it out.
I was flipping through House Beautiful May '11 issue, searching for a color combo for a different challenge, when I came across this silohoutte overlay.  It's an ad for KraftMaid kitchen cabinetry.

And here's what I did with it:

The pink butterfly paper with "jolie" written on it is by SEI Chocolat, a gift for my birthday from Gaby. (gracias Gaby).  All other paper is from K & Company including the title block and flower die-cuts.  Flowers are from Prima and bling by Darice.  Part of the challenge was to include lyrics of your favorite song or one that inspires you, I printed excerpts of Who am I by Casting Crowns.  This is the first layout about me.  I hope you join the challenge and create a layout about you and Tell Your Story. :):)

And you are so right, crafting is therapy! I am a cancer survivor and crafting has been a great source of therapy for me.

Yolie - This is an amazing layout. Simply stunning. You are right: scrapbooking is therapy. There's an entire class on it on Big Picture Scrapbooking and my grief counselor had me work through a lot of stuff with scrapbooking too.

Yolie,
Your post is great. And once again....you ROCKED this challenge. I love Casting Crowns and it is a bit ironic that you chose a Kraftmaid Ad because I used to work at Kraftmaid about 13 years ago....funny, huh?!?
GREAT AND FABULOUS....TOTALLY DIVA WORTHY!
