I thought it would be great to use this technique on a card. Their copy had score lines, but Inkscape was not cooperating and didn't convert the dashes for me, so I created the file with straight cuts.
Here's my card:
The finished card measures 5x7. When I imported into SCAL, I ungrouped and removed the square, the corners were rounded and that's not what I wanted. I then scored the top of the window so it's easier to lift.
Make sure to use heavy cardstock and not thin paper. I used DCWV Summer stack double sided paper and the blue polka dot is from Target dollar bin. I cut off the prongs off the flower brads and adhered them with Fast Grab Glue. The ribbon is from Michael's and I inked the edges with Studio G chalk ink. Each window has a clear button embellie by Making Memories RAKed to me: "smile", "sweet", "cutie"....inside of the card says: ....it's your birthday.
How clever to take a piece of junk mail and come up with this creation! Love it! ...I think a little birdie told me that today is your birthday? HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOLIE! Enjoy your day!
