Cricut Cake and a GIVEAWAY! {CLOSED}

CHA! Wowsers I am beat. I was there from beginning to end. As many of you know Provo Craft has a new Cricut Expression, the Cricut Cake. Nice looking red with a brushed metal sides. I’m not into baking, shoot I can hardly bake brownies. It’s basically the Expression without the rollers, the keys and cartridge slot are well covered. The mat of course is not sticky.

In one of the Yahoo groups that I belong, a few weeks ago there was someone that had removed the rollers off their Expression for cake decorating. If you remember who that was, can you please tell me? I tried searching old posts but the “search feautre” is not the greatest.

The PC people handed out chef’s hats with the Cricut Cake logo. If you were spotted wearing it, they would give you tickets for the raffle. I didn’t wear it, I don’t like hats, I have a big head! LOL So I am giving it away. Just share your thoughts about the new Cricut Cake and I will use Random.org to pick a winner on Sunday night. Sorry, but I will only ship within the US.

Thanks!

I cut my rollers off ages ago to do the cake thing after I got the DVD (http://www.creativedesignscakes.com/) and have used it for both gumpaste and paper, no problems! And nothing gets on the rollers, knobs, or keys, anyway, so I won't be buying the new machine...of course, I don't have the money to, either :)

Yolie, I like the new look for the blog. The whole cake think looks like a hoot to do, but hello like I need another hobby. Not! Maybe someday.

I like it, but will probably just buy the mats.

I like the color of the cake machine but you would have to have a bakery to justify the machine or just forget about having a waistline. :-)

Oh how cute are the "chef hats". I haven't yet made a cricut cake but it is definitely on my list to do. Glad you could make it to the show (just a little jealousy here, LOL)
And THANKS for all your great files!!!!

I'm not really a baker or decorator either. I like the metal casings any you could probably use that seal and press wrap to protect your keys.

Unless you use it a lot for cakes, I'd just stick to the plain old cricut.

BTW- I'm sooo jealous. I'm across country :(

I guess I just don't understand what it does or how it decorates a cake. I think the idea is intriguing though. I have cut out cardstock and used the negative as a template to decorate cakes with sprinkles and sugar. I hope to learn more about this machine. Thanks for the giveaway!

I like it, but do not think I will be getting it! It does sound fun to do though.

Great idea but to much money when I only make cakes for my kids. I would love to have a hat, great pic opt when cooking with my kids.

I think it's a good idea, but I hope they're not mass-producing them. I just don't see the casual home crafter buying ANOTHER Cricut specifically for use with cutting fondant when others have been doing this with their existing Expressions.

I love the idea of it & the designs for it. I love to decorate cakes but don't do it a lot. Seems you would have to make lots of them to justify it. I use my Cricut everyday but I wouldn't that one.

I have a friend that uses her little bug for decorating cakes. She has been doing this for several months now. I thought it would get everything sticky but she said it didn't. Don't know what she did for the mat however.

I think the cake cricut is a fab idea for people who scrapbook & decorate cakes. They won't have to remove & replace their rollers anymore!

I think It's a neat idea! But to justify the cost of another machine, you'd have to either have a bakery, or in home business. HMMMM, nah, don't think I could squeeze in another job or hobby into my day, too busy as it is.

I think that while cute, unless you bake alot, it's not worth the expense. Since my kids are all grown up, I can't justify it for "class parties"!

good idea for bakers, but i don't particularly like the flavor of gum paste... and i like cakes decorated the old-fashioned way, so i wouldn't buy it.

on another note... where is So Cal are you? i live near riverside and was totally bummed i couldn't go to cha... oh well in 2012, when it is back in anaheim, i am planning on making it both days.

I am interested in learning more about the Cricut Cake and just how it is used in decorating cakes? The red is a striking color though!

It sounds like a redo of the Cricut for cake decorating. I don't bake often and nothing fancy so could not justify spending the money on the machine. Now if someone were to give me one I would ust it.

There are posts on cakecentral.com regarding the use of fondant and gumpaste in the Cricut. I like the red, but if I want to cut fondant I can use what I already have. I am however, interested in the Ecraft machine, from Craftwell... did anyone happen to see a demo of this cutter?

It was very interesting reading all the posts on your site regardind the new cricut cake.

I never knew or even thought about using my Expression to decorate cakes. I'm going to have to give it a try!

Thanks for the info.
